DISOBEY AND CHANGE THE WORLD!
Artist Jani Leinonen founds School of Disobedience and launches an Activist Idea Competition to change the world through protest.
The School of Disobedience opens its doors 4th of September in the Finnish National Gallery but is already looking for great ideas for protest on its website. School of Disobedience offers its students revolutionary ideas and concrete tools for making the world better. The School of Disobedience asks what kind of a world we want in stead of the present one, and teaches how to fight for the important causes. Our teachers encourage the students not to take their obedient place in society and become successful cogs in the wheel – not to let the wheel spin them around as it wants without taking a look at what they’re doing. Lets fight back!
Our teachers are artist Jani Leinonen, civil rights fighter Li Anderson, travelling revolutionaries Riku Rantala and Tunna Milonoff, hiphop troublemaker Paleface, priest and feminist Marjaana Toiviainen and street artist Sampsa and many others
The School of Disobedience opens in the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma 4th of September 2015 and runs until the end of January 2016.
